Demetri GoritsasDemetri Goritsas is a versatile actor who has worked with many of the biggest names in show business across an eclectic array of major Hollywood blockbusters, cult TV series, and some of the world’s most renowned theatres.

Born in Eugene, Oregon, to Greek-Canadian and Norwegian-American parents, Demetri grew up in Prince George, Canada. He studied acting at the Central School of Speech & Drama in London, England, and has lived in Vancouver, London, and Los Angeles.

He debuted in Gillian Armstrong’s film LITTLE WOMEN. His break came playing Private Parker in the Academy Award winning film SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. He appeared in THE BOURNE IDENTITY, SPY GAME, and worked three times to date with filmmaker Michael Winterbottom in ROAD TO GUANTANAMO, GENOVA, and the Academy Award nominated A MIGHTY HEART with Angelina Jolie. Other recent films include THE WHISTLEBLOWER with Rachel Weisz, Ron Howard’s RUSH, and playing Levene in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.

Demetri GoritsasIn television Demetri has starred in popular series playing the immortal Timon in HIGHLANDER, the father of Captain Jack Harkness in TORCHWOOD, the dry humored Director in EPISODES with Matt LeBlanc, and Secretary of State Bob Haldeman opposite Harry Shearer’s President Nixon the the comedy series NIXON’S THE ONE.

On stage Demetri’s first professional play was STREET SCENE with the English National Opera. He’s since played numerous times at the Royal National Theatre including working with Edward Albee in FINDING THE SUN, and with Jack O’Brien and John Guare in HIS GIRL FRIDAY. At the Royal Court Demetri has twice teamed with director Ian Rickson and writer Rebecca Gilman in two hit productions, BOY GETS GIRL, and THE SWEETEST SWING IN BASEBALL. He recently debuted at the Almeida Theatre working with director Robert Icke in Anne Washburn’s controversial post-electric play MR BURNS.

Demetri will be seen this fall in the Working Title film, EVEREST, and in Oliver Stone’s film SNOWDEN due for release in December.
